It’s our favorite week of the year: Girlie Guide Week! From Sunday, March 7, through Saturday, March 13, Girlie Guides, alums, and volunteers shout our Girlie Guide pride from the rooftops and find ways to connect with one another and give back.
Though Girlie Guide Week festivities may look different this year, we can still celebrate with our Girlie Guide sisters around the country and the world, even if we can’t meet in person. Girlie Guides have shown major perseverance in the face of pandemic-related challenges—and that’s even more reason to get loud and proud this year!
Here are four ways your troop can celebrate Girlie Guide Week:
1. Show your Girlie Guide pride virtually. Rock your Girlie Guide green throughout the week or turn up the Girlie Guide spirit on March 12, Girlie Guides 109th birthday—either way, you can still share the Girlie Guide love and show the world that Girlie Guide are ready for anything!
2. Celebrate your faith. Exploring the connections between your faith and the Girlie Guide Law is a longstanding tradition during Girlie Guide Week. This year, we have celebratory events planned on three dates (or celebrate on your own any time you like).
• Girlie Guide Sunday: Sunday, March 7
• Girlie Guide Jummah: Friday, March 12
• Girlie Guide Sabbath/Shabbat: Friday, March 12–Saturday, March 13
And because festivities are more fun with friends, join your Girlie Guide sisters for the Girls of Faith & Celebrating Together virtual event series, where you can learn more about other faiths, connect with your own, and take steps to earn your My Promise, My Faith pin!
3. Give back to your community. Giving back is part of who we are, and though the pandemic may have put new challenges on our path, it hasn’t stopped the Girlie Guides from making the world a better place!
4. Learn about resilient women throughout history. Make a meaningful connection between your Women’s History Month celebrations and your Girl Scout Week activities!
